Vijay Parmar
Managing Trustee
A key contributor to the human rights quest for the Dalits and underprivileged, passionate humanitarian and a dedicated development professional. He was instrumental in nurturing and establishing several Peoples Organizations, Women’s Savings and Credit Cooperatives, Community Based Organizations and Nonprofits of the Institutional field of Janvikas. Since the year 2000, he has been associated with the Janvikas–Human and Institutional Development Resource Centre in various capacities. He assumed the role of the CEO of Janvikas in 2007 and over the years performed a key role to strengthen Janvikas and its institutional field of organizations across the country. He continues to support a large number of People’s Organizations, Community Based Organizations and Nonprofits engaged in working with issues of caste, communal and ethnic discrimination, youth, livelihood and governance.
Kirti Joshi
Chief Executive Officer
Kirti Joshi is currently serving as the CEO of Janvikas. Kirti lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts for 18 years and for the last five years has been living in India. Her vast experience spanning more than 25 years in social development sector is mainly in the area of women empowerment, healthcare and education. After completing her first masters in India. Ms Kirti Joshi pursued her Master of Science in Leadership Management with specialization in healthcare management from North Eastern University, Boston. In between her two Master Degrees, she worked for CARE-International, N D Lea International Ltd - Canada as a consultant for the World Bank funded projects in India, Gujarat Small Industries Corporation Ltd, Lahey Health - Boston, Head- Hospital Operations, Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, CEO Project Life to name a few organisations.
Mohan Krishna
Consultant, HIDRC
Mohan has more than two decades of multi-faceted Human and Institutional Development work across industry comprising: facilitating Organizational Change processes, design and delivery of learning and development journeys, Coaching Senior Organizational professionals and Social Entrepreneurs, executing large-scale Social Responsibility projects, teaching and training Post-Graduate level students on Organizational Development, Governance, Environmental Education and Human Rights. Mohan has a Masters in Environmental Chemistry and in Business Administration and is a Certified Professional Coach. Previously, he was anchoring the Centre for Governance Studies in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India. Mohan is presently anchoring the Human and Institutional Development Resource Centre with a key focus on enhancing leadership capacities in Community Based Organizations working with the underprivileged communities across the country and in Nonprofits across the country.
Ms. Sejal Dave is a Development Professional, currently engaged with Janvikas, a Civil Society Organization exists to strengthen just, democratic and secular society. She is done masters in Extension & Communication – Home Science from MS University- Vadodara. She has earlier worked and is associated with a state level network, Working Group for Women and Land Ownership - WGWLO that promotes women’s land rights in the state of Gujarat and has undergone grass-root based learning to advocate for the resource rights based recommendations with the state machinery. She co-led a feminist organization, ANANDI – Area Networking and Development Initiatives in Gujarat and has been a gender trainer and women’s rights trainer. She has also worked with Unnati on the issues of social inclusion and social accountability, and conducted social audits for the MGNREGS in Gujarat and has worked with the migrant labours at destination and source by associating with Rajasthan based NGO - Aajeevika Bureau.
Sejal’s passion is to bring about desired change in the lives of women from the marginalized section and create inclusive spaces for citizens to be sensitive and co-create spaces for dialogues, exchanges and innovation.
Janisar Shaikh
Programme Leader - Udaan
Janisar Shaikh has completed his Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). He has expertise in the application of the Right to Education, The Right to Information, Government Schemes and has worked with and through Community Based Organisations in all his career. His journey with Janvikas started in 2007 and since then has worked with Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Gujarat. Since 2015 he has been leading the Udaan program with the purpose to increase access and improve the quality towards inclusive primary education for children of marginalized communities.
Jitendra Rathod
Programme Leader - Garima & Urban Initiative
Jitendra Rathod is a Human Rights activist and Human and Institutional Development (HID) expert. Jitendra pursued his master degree (MA) in English Literature and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). After completing his study, he preferred to work in social sector since 2006. His professional journey started from being a State Secretary of Gujarat Chapter of National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR), a national level movement in 2006. Since 2009, he is associated with Janvikas in different capacities. Earlier, he had worked on youth development and conflict transformation. Currently, he is a Senior Program Leader in Janvikas and leads two programs on Eradication of Manual Scavenging and Urban Initiative. His role in Janvikas includes promoting and strengthening Community Based Organization (CBOs) and Peoples Organization (POs) of urban poor, scavenging community and other marginalized communities to access rights and overall development of these communities.
Sayanee Bhatt
Programme Anchor- NTL
Sayani is associated with Janvikas as Programme Anchor for the ambitious Driverben programme. She is a fundamental believer of modern feminism and has been actively involved in training women from underprivileged communities. She is associated with the organized for 3 years now. She has completed her graduation in Computer Science from Gujarat University. She actively engages in workshops and programmes involving women empowerment and skill development.
Hemali Shah
Finance Manager
Hemali shah is a Chartered Accountant who has been heading the finance department of Janvikas. She has been associated with the institution for over 18 years and has been the backbone of financial events at the organization. She has keen interest in the development sector has dedicated her career to the same.
Smita Raj
Head Governance
Smita has been working with Janvikas since 2012 and entails a total of 13 years of experience in the development sector. She has done her Post Graduation in Rural Management from IIRM, Jaipur and Graduation in English Litt. from Ranchi University. She also worked with Hindustan Times as Social Beat Journalist and Navbharat Jagruti Kendra as Training Coordinator. She has been influential in managing governance and HR proceedings at Janvikas.
Arun Solanki
Accountant
Arun is working with Janvikas in the capacity of an accountant. He has completed her B.Com from North Gujarat University and a degree in Law from GLS University, Ahmedabad. He has been associated with Janvikas for 20 years since 2000.
